Paula Fernández Jiménez (Sant Fruitós de Bages, Barcelona, 1st July 1999) is the new signing to Málaga CF’s women’s ranks. The midfielder arrives on the Costa del Sol from FC Barcelona’s reserve team, with the objective of reinforcing midfield on Antonio Contreras’ team for the 2017/18 season.
National team
Paula made her debut with Spain’s Under-17s in the European Under-17s Women’s Championships held in Iceland in 2015, against Romania. In addition, she took part in the European Under-17s in Belarus as well as the Under-17s World Cup 2016 in Jordan.
Career in Liga Iberdrola
She began her footballing career in 2005 with Escola Paidos and in 2009 joined CE Manresea. From 2011 until 2016/17 Paula formed part of the FC Barcelona B squad.
