Easter week brings with it numerous, highly prestigious tournaments in European grassroots football, and the Málaga CF teams carried out their own particular competition. Results included four championships, two finalists, three semi-finalists, a quarter-finalist and a knockout round place.
Champions
Two ‘infantil’ teams won the XIII Oviedo Cup 2018 and Algarve Youth Cup 2018. In the first, the Malaguistas defeated Real Zaragoza by 3-0 in the final. On the way they eliminated Real Sporting and Real Sociedad amongst others. In the latter tournament, the Blue and Whites secured an authoritative win in the final against Estoril (5-0).
In the ‘Alevín’ category, another two teams were proclaimed champions of the Gañafonte Cup 2018 and the Ciudad de Murcia Football Tournament. With a 3-1 result in the final against Córdoba CF and a 2-1 against Deportivo Alavés respectively, the Blue and Whites took home both trophies for The Academy.
