Okazaki in training at full pace with his teammates

The latest Malaguista reinforcement, who played his first minutes with the Blue and Whites on Tuesday in the friendly against Córdoba CF, was in training at ‘La Quinta Football’ at the same pace as the rest of the team.

The last 24 hours have been somewhat frantic for the latest Málaga CF signing.  Shinji Okazaki wore ‘La Blanquiazul’ for the first time in Tuesday’s friendly against Córdoba CF, that ended in a 1-1 draw. Earlier today (12:30) his official presentation was held at La Rosaleda stadium, and this afternoon he was back in training under the orders of Víctor Sánchez del Amo.

However, Okazaki wasn’t the only new face. Homegrown defender Cristo joined the concentration in Estepona and completed training this Wednesday together with the rest of the squad. With the departure of Ismael Casas to Spain’s U-20s, and the inclusion of young defender, Cristo, there are still seven homegrown players taking part in Malaguista pre-season training.

Outside the group, Mikel, Boulahroud, Keidi, Pacheco, Lombán and Luis Hernández carried out specific training in the gym.

The session kicked off with the usual warm-up and various exercises with the ball. Subsequently, the Malaguista coach arranged his players on a reduced-sized pitch to work on ball exit and finishing exercises. Training concluded with a speed series.

Another training session is scheduled for tomorrow morning (9am) followed by a friendly against RCD Mallorca (7pm) at Marbella Football Center.
