New tactical tests against Al Nassr FC (2-0)

Málaga CF played their penultimate pre-season game at Marbella Football Center against Al Nassr FC. Sami (63’) and Aboubakar (69’) scored for the Saudi outfit. Tomorrow, we’re playing in the Ciudad de Granada Cup, the final preparation match.

The Blue and Whites camp up against Al Nassr FC at Marbella Football Center in this final stage of the summer preseason. Pablo Guede’s starting-11 consisted of: Yáñez, Ramalho, E. Burgos, Andrés, Víctor Olmo; Issa Fomba, Escassi, Luis Muñoz, Álex Gallar; Adrián and Loren.

In terms of gameplay, the Blue and Whites went out with the intention of dominating possession, but were not forceful enough in the movement of the ball due to the disposition of the Saudi team.

However, Málaga increased their pace of play and enjoyed a number of options to get ahead on the scoreboard. First Adrián, who didn’t manage to take advantage of his position in the area to make a clear shot, and then Loren whose attempt veered slightly off target.

At half-time the scoreboard remained 0-0. In the second half, Dani Lorenzo and Haitam replaced Adrián and Álex Gallar. The team was extremely focused and looking hard for the goal. The first chance for the Malaguistas came in the opening minutes. Víctor Olmo dribbled and served a ball into the area that Haitam wasn’t able to direct into goal with his header.

Control of the ball didn’t transform into clear scoring chances for Pablo Guede's team. After several substitutions by the Saudi side, and taking advantage of the Blue and Whites' forward defence, Al Nassr opened the scoring with a goal from Sami to make it 1-0 (63').

Álex Rico subsequently joined play in place of Issa Fomba. Shortly afterwards, in 69’, Aboubakar took advantage of a lateral cross to put his team 2-0 up at Marbella Football Center.

Fatigue was prevalent in the final minutes and the match ended in a 2-0 defeat. Tomorrow the team will travel to Granada to compete in the Ciudad de Granada Cup, which will bring the Malaguista pre-season to a close.
