Muñiz: “Dépor will demand a lot of sacrifice and hard work from us”
The Málaga CF coach highlights the quality of the rival from Galicia: “One of their strengths is their individualities, particularly in the attacking half”.
A normal week
“It’s been a good week, after the victory, a week in which we’ve worked calmly with many players recovering from discomfort from the week before. A normal week throughout the season”.
Deportivo
“Another match of the category, in the end it’s another match with three points at stake against a good rival. A rival who last season was in another division, and we both know they are totally different categories, with different ways of playing. They will demand a lot of sacrifice and hard work from us to bring the three points back to Málaga. They dominate the rival area and have punch in the attacking half. There are some good players and they are made to be in the top part of the standings. One of their strengths is their individualities, particularly in the attacking half”.
Line-up
“We’re taking 20 players as we’re going to do one last training session, so to anticipate any situations that may occur, we’re taking extra players. In addition, it’s good to incorporate players into the match environment and to form a group. I don’t consider there to be any new additions as such, because any member of the team is available to travel. I don’t like to leave people behind as they could be in the starting line-up and I know they would do well”.
Team
“Those who are out at the moment should be satisfied with their work as we’re all very happy with their attitude because everyone contributes to the team. When there’s a good atmosphere and a good group, I’m sure that those who contribute the most are those who are not participating and who are out of the line-up. We have to be grateful for that. They’re prepared. The coach is calm as when we have an injury the player coming up behind him is ready”.
Standings
“I don’t look at the classification of other teams. I focus on how we’re doing, how many points we have, and it doesn’t matter much to me how the others are getting on, particularly when we’re winning, as if we’re winning the others remain behind us. I try to ensure that others look towards us, but above all make certain that we know there are three vital points in play, regardless of the rival; our objective this week was to prepare for this weekend’s game”.
