Málaga CF goalkeeper, Munir stayed on the bench as Morocco lost to Benin on penalties. Following a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes, Morocco didn’t manage to score the winner in extra time, despite playing against 10 men for 20 minutes. In the penalty shoot-out, Benin scored four against just one from Morocco.
As such, Munir bids farewell to the Africa Cup 2019 having played one match, the third in the group stage, pitting Morocco against South Africa, which ended in a 1-0 victory for the North African side.
