Munir Mohand, in the starting line-up, played four full matches during September, bringing his magnificent saves to three victories for the current Second Division leaders. These games were the away win against Almería (0-1) and home wins against Córdoba (3-0) and Rayo Majadahonda (1-0).
Two interventions by the keeper of North African origin were decisive in two of the aforementioned narrow victories. In Almería, in stoppage time, he prevented a rival equaliser in 93’ with a superb save from a close range shot from Juan Ibiza. Against Majadahonda, also with a 1-0 lead in the closing stages, he made a superb save to prevent an Ernesto Galán goal in 85’.
A total of 360 minutes in goal and just one conceded for the keeper, away to UD Las Palmas (1-0) on 23rd September.
LaLiga 1|2|3 names Munir Player of the Month for September, the first award of the 2018/19 season for a player in the Second Division of Spanish football. The Moroccan international will receive the prestigious accolade in the lead-up to the start of Monday’s match, at La Rosaleda (21:00) against CD Numancia.
