Morales and Antunes join group training for the first time

Málaga Club de Fútbol begins this week’s training with a morning session at the Ciudad de Málaga Athletics Stadium today. Pellegrini’s men are focused on Saturday’s match against Levante UD in Valencia.

New players, Pedro Morales and Antunes, joined group training today for the first time with their teammates.  Morales exercised in the gym last Friday before he was officially presented, whilst the Portuguese-born player underwent the routine medical, and with the Club’s permission, travelled back to Portugal to organise his transfer to the Costa del Sol.

The players from Sunday’s match against Real Zaragoza had a less intense session this morning, whilst the rest of the group focused on possession work, a physical training circuit with goal-shooting practice and a mini-match.

Goalkeepers Kameni and Pol worked under the instruction of Xabi Mancisidor before joining the group, whilst reserve players Fabrice, Jurado and Óscar Sielva trained with the first team.

Weligton, suffering with an adductor muscle contracture, Joaquín with a bruised external left quadriceps and Duda with a bruised left calf muscle, exercised in the gym today.  However Eliseu, suffering with a sprained medial ligament in his left knee, is undergoing further tests tomorrow to determine the extent of the injury.

Isco (Spain), Lugano and Seba (Uruguay) and Fabrice (Cameroon) were all absent from training due to international commitments.

The team returns to work tomorrow morning at 10:30 at the Ciudad de Málaga Athletics Stadium.
