Jesús Gámez: “We need to give it our all against Levante”

Málaga CF right-back, Jesús Gámez, held a press conference this morning, ahead of the second training session of the week at the Ciudad de Málaga stadium.

Jesús Gámez is focused on the next League clash against Levante UD.  “After we missed out on two points from last weekend’s match, the team is eager to return to winning ways.  We’ve got the chance for victory against Levante, who are a direct rival to us.  Although it’s going to be a tough match, we need to give it our all.”

Following Eliseu’s injury, the ‘Malagueño’ offered to play on the left-wing if necessary:  “If the coach needs me to play on the left-wing then I’m ready.  It’s not the first time I’ve played in this position.  Situations arise throughout the season that can result in a player having to alter their usual position on the pitch, and if the coach needs me to change, then it’s no problem at all for me.”

Gámez is thinking about his teammate Isco, who could today make his debut with Spain in an official match:  “I really hope Isco gets the chance to play and make his debut with the team, he really deserves it.  It’s only been a short time, but he’s really earned the fans’ affection, not just because he’s a ‘Malagueño’, but because of his skill on the pitch.  We all hope he debuts with Spain and continues to play for his country.”

Fuengirola-born Gámez has been a ‘Malaguista’ for several years and always makes the new players feel welcome:  “We all try and help new players as much as possible so that they feel a part of the team quickly.  They all adapt to the team very well and are always eager to start work.”
