Málaga CF Female
Minimal defeat for Femenino in Huelva (2-1)

The Malaguistas staged a hard-fought match, but despite a goal from Sheila, they leave Huelva without points.

Soon after kick-off, both teams shared possession of the ball at either end of the pitch during the initial stages of play. Generating more opportunities, the Blue and Whites approached the Huelva goal, but didn’t manage to convert. A solid defence by Contreras’ girls meant that intervention from Chelsea was barely required. Both teams showed a similar style of play, and after 45 minutes the scoreboard remained at 0-0.

As the second half kicked off, the locals were more forceful on the attack, and despite a good initial performance by Chelsea in 55’, a minute later Sporting opened the scoring with a goal from Cristina (1-0). Málaga were activated following the rival goal, and Pamela came close to an equaliser in minute 62. The occasions multiplied for the Malaguistas, and in 68’, the post prevented Raquel from putting her team level. The match came to a halt, and in 76’, Sporting made the most of a Málaga space to increase their lead to 2-0. Málaga started their comeback, and three minutes later, Sheila slammed the ball into the back of the net to put the visitors on the scoreboard and narrow the gap (2-1). The Málaga players didn’t give up at any time, and despite having possession of the ball, were unable to make it all square, and the match ended with a 2-1 result.
