The Malaguistas lost to Real Betis in the 6th LaLiga Santander match. A goal from Joaquín in minute 24 secured victory for the locals.
Equality prevailed in the first stages of play. The match continued without any real chances in either area, however it was Real Betis who took the lead. Joaquín made the most of a cross by Musonda on the right to put his team ahead (1-0, minute 24).
Málaga reacted straight after the goal and approached the rival area with danger. Kuzmanovic narrowly missed out on glory following assistance from Juanpi, and Fede Ricca’s shot hit the wood after heading a corner kick in minute 30.
At half-time, the score was 1-0.
In the second half Málaga tried to set the pace of play and approach the rival area. In minute 53, Camacho picked up a corner kick by Jony, that sailed just a few centimetres over the crossbar.
In the 59th minute, team captain, Duda joined the match in place of Kuzmanovic, reaching his 300th match with Málaga CF in LaLiga Santander.
Málaga went all out for the equaliser, and approached the area without success. A powerful shot from Juanpi in minute 62 was blocked by Betis goalkeeper, Adán. Just five minutes later, another shot from the Malaguista number 10 to the far post was saved by the local keeper, following another promising cross from Jony.
The Blue and Whites didn’t manage to level up the scoreboard before the full time whistle, in the 6th LaLiga Santander match of the season away to Real Betis.
