Following the match against Real Betis, the Malaguista coach states: “I think a draw would also have been fair.”
Equality; one half for each team
“The match was very even; the first half belonged to Betis, and the second half was ours. Betis scored a goal, which, logically, led to them winning the game. We created four or five clear opportunities but weren’t able to get a goal, that that cost us the match. The team that scored the goal won, deservedly, although I think a draw would also have been fair. Taking into account dominance and intensity, Málaga warranted more.”
Short results
“It’s been a struggle trying to get going during this League start, but that’s the First Division, a very close competition. Winning a match is costing us a great deal. The last two away games, Las Palmas and here, we lost by 1-0. I think we deserved a better result, that would be reflected in the rankings.”
Equality in LaLiga
“I think there are 10 or 12 teams at a very similar level. Winning a match gets you into the upper middle part of the table, and losing puts you near the bottom. There are a lot of teams very close together, and in each game we’ll see important changes in the rankings.”
