Mikel, the international with the most minutes

Venezuela’s Mikel Villanueva and Juanpi Añor won with Venezuela in Japan. Yesterday, it was defeat for Lorenzo with the Swiss Under-20s and, earlier today, Munir wasn’t part of Morocco’s victory against Burundi.

Juanpi and Mikel (Venezuela)

Venezuela defeated Japan this morning, in Osaka, by 1-4. The international friendly featured a former Malaguista, Salomón Rondón, who scored three of the four goals for ‘La Vinotinto’.

Mikel was in the starting line-up, played 90 minutes in defence, and was shown the yellow card. Juanpi, in stoppage time (90+1’) joined the match in place of his teammate, Yangel Herrera.

Munir (Morocco)

Victory for Morocco by 0-3 against Burundi, away, on matchday 2 of the Group E Africa Cup qualifier. The North African side lead the table with four points together with Mauritania, against whom they drew (0-0) last Friday in the debut of this qualifying stage.

In both matches the starting goalkeeper for Morocco was Sevilla’s Bono, with Munir on the bench for the two games.

Lorenzo (Swiss U-20s)

The Blue and White forward was in action yesterday in an international Under-20 match with Switzerland, against Italy. The result, a 4-2 win for Italy. Lorenzo played the last 10 minutes of the match.
