Míchel’s first day at the office

The new Málaga CF coach led his first Blue and Whites’ training session this morning. He had a chat to his players before the session got underway.

The Blue and Whites’ coach had his first contact with the Málaga squad this morning. The nearly two-hour session kicked off with a chat in the dressing room, before stepping on to the pitch at the Ciudad de Málaga stadium.

Tactical work with the ball dominated the session, in which Míchel kept on top of his players at all times. 26 footballers were in training; four goalkeepers (Boyko, Kameni, Aarón and Guille Lara) plus another 22 pitch players, were under the orders of the Madrid-born coach.

Juanpi and Recio underwent specific training using the ball, under the instruction of fitness trainer, Hugo Camarero. Samu Casado could also be seen on the pitch. The reserve team goalkeeper underwent continuous running, and continues racing through the stages of his recovery.

Meanwhile, Camacho continued with his recovery treatment, suffering from a sprained left ankle, pending development. The midfielder exercised in the gym. Koné, who was present at the Ciudad de Málaga, will return to France shortly to continue his recovery. Kuzmanovic carries on with his recovery in Switzerland.

Sports director, Francesc Arnau, and Club adviser, Abdullah Ben Barek accompanied Míchel during his first training session.

The Malaguista squad will return to training on Thursday at 10:30, at the Ciudad de Málaga stadium.
