MCF-TV interview with Carlos Kameni

Cameroon goalkeeper, Carlos Kameni, who joined Málaga CF last winter, was interviewed by ‘MCF-TV’.

Málaga CF signing
“It was so important for me, as there’s some amazing teams in this League like Real Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia, and Málaga are also now at a very high level.  I was so excited when I got the call, and accepted straight away”.

“I had a wonderful welcome when I arrived here, from my team mates and managers, as well as Club employees and the fans.  I’m concentrating on the job I have to do, focusing on the daily training sessions and playing matches.  I’m really happy to be here”.

Adapting
“Since my first day, my team mates have really looked after me, and made it so easy for me to fit in.  It’s given me more confidence as a footballer, which is vital when you’re a goalkeeper.  Who wouldn’t want to play in goal for Málaga?!”

Debut with Málaga CF
“I can’t put into words how amazing it was to be part of that match-at Cornellá El Prat.  It was a God-given opportunity for me to play in front of fans who really supported me before, and who continue to do so.  I had to replace Willy Caballero, who unfortunately was injured.  I wish him a speedy recovery”.

Objectives
My long term goals are to continue with this Club, who are performing amazingly well in the League, and could move on to world football.  In the short term, I hope we qualify for Champions, I’ll keep fighting and working as hard as I can for the team.  We’ve all got a lot of ambition to fulfil our dream of qualifying for Champions.  We’ll be fighting as hard as we can to get there”.

“I’ve competed in everything really.  I’ve played in five Africa Cups for my country (Cameroon), two Federation Cups, and two World Cups.  It’s so important for me to get to Champions”.
