- Since 1999 both clubs have faced each other at La Rosaleda 16 times in official matches (15 League and one Copa del Rey). Málaga CF secured eight victories, four draws and four defeats.
- The match with the most goals was a 3-4 result in the 1999/2000 season, the first MCF-Athletic League clash in history. Catanha (2) and Edgar scored for Málaga, and Lacruz (2), Alkorta and Etxeberria scored the Bilbao side’s goals.
