On 09/05/1982 in a Second Division game, CD Málaga was losing by 2-1 to Levante UD in the 90th minute. Goals from Antonio Hierro and Serrano in injury time saw Málaga win by 2-3, keeping their promotion battle intact.
CD Málaga’s fifth promotion to the First Division came following a Levante-Málaga match (0-0), which took place on 13/06/1965 at the old Vallejo ground, in the return leg of the promotion tie (the first leg ended 4-2).
