Maresca: “We have the time and the skill to recover our place”
Málaga Club de Fútbol player, Enzo Maresca, spoke to the media today, 30th January, in the Ciudad de Málaga stadium press room, minutes before the morning’s training session.
“The derby, as all are, was a very intense match. The team played well and we achieved the result that we were looking for, a win at last to get out of the bad patch, a win that has been elusive in games in which we weren’t inferior to the rivals. We let Sevilla come out and score in the first half but we brought it back well.”
“We knew it would be a black and white game which we had to win to get back in the fight for the objectives with positive results.”
“We always go out with the attitude of winning a match but it’s not only down to us. There’s another team and other circumstances involved too, and these factors don’t always let you do what you would like.”
“I’m united with Seba in dedicating his goal to the ‘Mucho Mas que Fútbol’ programme. We promised to visit to the inmates and we’re happy to have done that and dedicate it to them.”
“Personally, I think it was a good game and all the team are happy. Now we have the time to recover our place, confirm that we’re out of the bad patch and continue on this path. The important thing is to reach the objective at the end of the year, not so much during it.”
“I’m happy for the public’s support at La Rosaleda where they cheered me at the substitution point. I really appreciate all that warmth.”
