Manolo Gaspar will continue in his role as sports director of Málaga CF. The Entity endorses his commitment to the proposed project and highlights his remarkable work which has been brilliantly executed up to now.
Without doubt, Manolo has faced one of the most complex scenarios in the recent history of the Club. The narrow financial margin, the suffocating limitation of registered players and the outbreak of COVID-19 has led to the worst time for the Club. However, Manolo and his team were able to put together a balanced, complete team that competes without difficulty in the tough LaLiga SmartBank.
Since taking on the role on an interim basis in October 2019, Gaspar has experienced a judicial administration, sporting redundancies and an exemplary sanction from LaLiga. His skill and determination in finding solutions for the squad has allowed MCF to stay alive.
Manolo already won the affection of the Malaguista fans for his ‘Courage and Heart’ when he was defending the right wing at La Rosaleda, but now he has the admiration of the fans by applying the same pride to his negotiations. Nobody underestimates what Gaspar had to do to form the current project. That number ‘20’ that once gave his all on the pitch, today does the same in the offices at Martiricos.
