The Blue and Whites defeated Algeciras CF at the Nuevo Mirador, with a double from En Nesiry, and goals from Charles and Santos.
Football and Málaga lovers couldn’t go too long without seeing their team, and tonight the 2016/17 pre-season kicked off with a friendly against Algeciras CF at the Nuevo Mirador.
Out of the 23 called-up players, there were many young ones who were in action from the start, in Juande Ramos’ first test during his second time on the Blue and Whites’ bench. Málaga debuted the new kit, and also new players such as Jony and Kone, as well as reserve team players like En Nesiry, who was the star of the first half.
En Nesiry made it a 0-1 lead in minute 23’ showing good definition with his left foot. He was also well-placed when he gave the team a 0-2 lead, making the most of clearance from the local keeper in minute 36’ after a shot from Kuki Zalazar.
The coach changed the entire starting-11 after half-time, with Llorente, Michael Santos and Kuzmanovic making their debut, along with other players from the Academy.
Málaga controlled the match, and Charles subsequently scored his first goal of the pre-season in minute 69’, putting the visitors 0-3 in front.
With seven minutes remaining until the final whistle, Michael Santos was brought down inside the area by an Algeciras defender. The Uruguayan striker then scored from the penalty spot, to make it 0-4 on the score board.
