The RFEF has changed the system of the competition, and now 16 women’s teams from the Liga Iberdrola will fight for the Cup title.
Málaga CF Femenino is taking part in another competition this season in the Spanish women’s footballing elite. As reported at the Assembly of the Royal Spanish Football Federation held yesterday, 24th July at Ciudad Deportiva de las Rozas in Madrid, the system of the Copa de la Reina has changed. Therefore, it won’t be just the top eight teams in the standings taking part, but all 16 in the Liga Iberdrola.
Captain of the Malaguista squad, Adriana Martín assesses the new decision taken by the RFEF to the MCF media and affirms that “it’s a great opportunity for all of us, as well as a gesture of no discrimination against any team. I think it’ll be good for everyone and is another incentive to compete and enhance enthusiasm”.
