Málaga CF take the three-way tournament in Sittard
The team remains unbeaten in this preseason and achieves two more wins against Fortuna Sittard (0-1) and against a combination of German players (0-2)
Málaga CF is finishing its week in Holland and today took part in a tournament in the Fortuna Sittard stadium with two matches of 45 minutes against the host team and German VDV, a squad of players without a team in Germany’s Second Division.
The negative note of this ‘triangular’ has been the injuries. Weligton had to retire as a precaution in minute 5 due to problems with his right knee; Miguel Torres was substituted in minute 12 after a hit to the left hip; and youth player Luis Muñoz sprained a ligament in his right knee in the second half. We’re hoping that these injuries will not last long for the good of the players and the benefit of the team.
In the first match, Camacho and Ricci both almost got the ball to the net with headers. There was also a goal by Jony, in a lone move on the left wing with a low shot to the post in minute 32. In this triangular format, you have to launch penalties at the end of the match when necessary. They ended in ties so they all went to sudden death. Aarón took responsibility and score a great one. Then he stopped the next one, meaning his performance was key both in front of and in the goal.
The second match was against the Germans and Junade Ramos took the opportunity to change up the starting 11. Nesyri didn’t go on at first but when he did in minute 20 he was busy causing trouble for the rival’s keeper.
Málaga dominated without many opportunities until Chory saw one and passed to Pablo Fornals who scored a great left-footed shot to the back of the net. It was a super goal and his second in this preseason.
Chory also wanted his one and took a shot with his left foot and it paid off. It was an unstoppable one for the keeper and it was all over and in the Malaguista’s favour.
