Canal Sur Radio presented Málaga Club de Fútbol with the award, following the team’s historic season in the Champions League, and in recognition of owner, Sheikh Abdullah Al Thani, who fuelled the sporting success.
The event, held in the cultural centre of El Corte Inglés, was attended by Málaga Club de Fútbol advisers; Antonio Fernández Benítez and Abdallah Ben Barek; director general, Vicente Casado; goalkeeper, Willy Caballero; and sporting director, Mario Husillos.
The awards, which were paintings by Eugenio Chicano, were also presented to two other world-champion ‘Malagueños’; triathlete, Rubén Ruzafa and kitesurfer, Álex Pastor, and former player and vice president of Atlético Málaga, Isa Guerrero, was recognised for promoting sporting values.
