Málaga CF presents The MBC in Hacienda del Álamo, in front of some of Málaga’s most important businesses

Hacienda del Álamo played host to the inauguration of The MBC, Málaga Business Club, on Thursday 8th March, in collaboration with Centro Porsche Marbella and some of the most important businesses in Málaga.

More than 200 business people from all over the coast attended the event, with great representation from Málaga CF, including; the Club’s General Manager Fernando Ruiz Hierro; Advisory Consultant Francisco Martín Aguilar; Presidential Advisor Jesús Niño; Business Development Manager Vicente Casado; Head of Finance Manuel Novo; Sports director Antonio Fernández; player Sergio Sánchez and first team delegate Vicente Valcarce; and other well known faces from the coaching team in La Academia, Julen Guerrero, and ex player and member of the Málaga Veterans Association, Raúl Iznata.

The MBC is an ambitious and exciting project for Málaga Club de Fútbol, to become more involved with Málaga businesses, and to grow and develop with links to the world of football.  As explained by Vicente Casado: “Since the arrival of the Sheikh, the team has grown in so many different ways.  Málaga Business Club took shape within three months, with numerous companies now members.  A special reminder that our advisor and businessman, José Carlos Pérez, would have been so pleased to see his Málaga grow like this, and become involved with these businesses.  Setting up this business in the Spanish Football Federation and the Mutua Tennis Open (Madrid), is very positive and works well for Málaga.  Our Sales Manager, Carlos Díaz, also put this into practice in the Granada Basketball Club”.

Casado is very clear on the objectives of The MBC: “The most important part of The MBC is the Málaga businesses.  We have two clear aims: the first to establish an ongoing link between the Club and these companies, and be seen not just on match day at La Rosaleda.  Secondly, to create a platform where the various businesses can get involved with each other” he continued, speaking of the three main values of The MBC; “Football, as it’s what we do and who we are, VIP tickets for La Rosaleda, and all inclusive holidays; Sport, not just football, we’ll have golf tournaments, padel and car test drives; Culture, as the Club supports UNESCO, we believe in a Málaga with many values and cultures, including museum visits, conferences and wine tastings”.

Vicente Casado spoke of the most universal and well known Málaga figure in his speech; “The key to achieving success when you begin a project, much like Picasso did, is to say ‘everything you can imagine is real’.  We imagined The MBC, and now it’s real”, said Casado.  Pedro Silva (Centro Porsche Marbella) then thanked MCF for “their direct collaboration with this project.  We’ve begun a very exciting project, and we need to get to know each other more, and take advantage of events like today, which we hope to see many more of in the future”.

Following the reception and press appearances, guests were invited to a meal by catering company ‘Alabardero’.  Musicians Miguel Lara and Francis García then performed on stage in the final part of The Málaga Business Club presentation.
