Luis Hernández: “It’s a point that doesn’t seem a lot to us”

The Blue and Whites’ defender affirms that the team’s objective is always victory, and the players are now fixed on the next match against Real Sociedad: “We need to prepare for the Anoeta fixture, where we’ll have another chance to claim three points”.

An insipid point

“Well, it’s a point that doesn’t seem a lot to us. In recent weeks we’ve been psyched up that La Rosaleda has to be a fortress, and that we have to earn all three points. We let two escape us after a very good first half, in which we had opportunities to score. In the second half it was more of a struggle, but we had sufficient chances to score more than one goal, yet at the end, a superb save by Roberto rescued this point for us”.

The important thing: gaining a point

“We knew Levante would come at us with the gameplay they did and wait for us to make a mistake, which is what happened. The match was alive until the 90th minute, and the rival waited for the only error we made. We cannot let points get away from us, particularly due to the circumstances we’re in. Today, thank God, we managed to claim one”.

No goals conceded

“We would have preferred to concede and go on to win the game. What is clear is that the first step of our objective starts with the goalkeeper and the defenders, which is what the coach made clear to us this week. It’s important for us to keep a clean sheet, but perhaps in other games where we’ve conceded and gone on to win, obviously are a lot better”.

Claiming three points

“Every week is going to be difficult for us, we need to win the three points. We must prepare for the Anoeta fixture where we’ll have another chance to claim three points. I think what we must always focus on is ourselves and doing our job, before we look at anyone else”.
