A point at home that means little
“This draw doesn’t feel like much to us, evidently. We’ve had two consecutive wins at home, knowing the importance of these games, where we have to be strong. I think the team tried from the start. If someone had tried and searched on the wings, looked for shots and sought to tighten up, it was us. They were clear about what they came here to do, to stay strong at the back and wait for us to make a mistake. They did their best in 92’, which I think was the only opportunity they had, which would have been the last straw if we hadn’t earned any points. If we don’t win at home, we know that now away we have to score points, whatever happens, which is what we’ll do”.
Scoring away points
“I think we’ve had a very difficult match calendar away from home in the first round, where we’ve been up against Sevilla, Villarreal, Valencia, Barça, Atlético and Real Madrid. It’s been tough, but as from now we need to try and earn points in away games. We can’t afford to let any match escape us, and it would give us a great deal of confidence if we were to claim points away from home, which we still haven’t done. The team knows that, with this draw, there is a great necessity to score points at Anoeta, which is what we’ll be focusing on. Then we’ve got Betis, which we must try and win, this doesn’t stop. We must be strong, especially psychologically, during these times, and not look down. It’s going to be a hard season, but I’m sure that the team will fight to achieve our goal, and I’m certain we’ll get there”.

“I’d like to thank the fans for their support. I always feel it, the fans’ affection, so it’s a shame we couldn’t secure a win for them as that’s what we wanted and were searching for. It’s unfortunate because I felt that we had to win today because of the streak we’ve had at home, and we know we’re strong here.
