Loren, in the starting-11 in La Rojita (U-19) draw

The Malaguista striker played 82 minutes with Spain’s Under-19s in the Elite Round match against Austria (2-2).

Loren Zúñiga was again part of Santi Denia’s squad. This time, it was in the Elite Round. The Malaguista forward was part of the starting line-up in the Spanish U-19 squad, wearing the number ‘9’ jersey.

The young Blue and White player was decisive in the intense, attacking start for Spain. Before the 25-minute mark, the lads went 2-0 up against Austria. Loren was part of the run-up to the second goal, the work of Ilias Akhomach. The Malaguista broke away behind the defence and surpassed the goalkeeper, but his shot hit the post. The subsequent clearance resulted in a goal by the Barcelona player.

In the second half, under incessant rainfall, Austria went level, leaving the tie wide open ahead of the second match.

Spain’s second and final match, due to Russia’s expulsion from the tournament, will take place on Tuesday 29th March against Denmark, coinciding with the V #SiempreFuerte Awards. This match will be crucial for Spain. Qualification for the European Under-19 Championship is at stake, taking place in Slovakia in summer.
