The winger made his debut as Malaguista captain against UD Las Palmas: “I am very proud and happy,” he said.
Lago is clear about his feelings for the match: “We’re leaving happy, we knew it would be a difficult match at the leader’s home ground. The game was very complicated for us, conceding that early penalty. In the end the team believed, insisted and we earned a point. We must insist, there are still 11 games left and we still believe,” he analysed.
This was his first time as Malaguista captain and he was very happy about it: “I am proud to wear the captain’s armband for a team like Málaga. I’m here to help my teammates, everyone. I am happy and proud,” he stated.
Lago is clear that it’s possible to get out of the situation and that the fans will be key to achieving the objective: “We know we’re in a very difficult situation, but today we showed the team continues to compete 100 per cent. We’re taking a point home from here and next week we’re going to give it our all. I ask our people, our fans, for their support. May they continue to believe in us, as we’re going to move this forward,” he concluded.
