La Rosaleda pays tribute to Pablo Ráez

Málaga CF honoured Pablo’s fighting spirit in the run-up to #MálagaRealBetis. A minute’s silence was held, with the fans imitating his iconic muscle gesture, and Pablo Fornals dedicating his goal to him.

It was a special day for the Club and the Malaguista fans. The fight and life lesson shown by Pablo Ráez marked the lead-up to the match against Real Betis, with an emotional tribute paid to the young man from Marbella who passed away from leukaemia.

Before #MálagaRealBetis kicked off, players from both teams, plus the 25,000 fans in La Rosaleda stadium, paid their respects to Pablo with an emotional minute’s silence, whilst the video screens projected Pablo’s iconic #SiempreFuerte image, to the tune of John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’. The tribute was extended on the pitch later on, with Pablo Fornals’ goal dedication, after putting the home side 1-0 in the lead.

Pablo, your fight will continue to be ours. We’ll never forget you. Ever.

Black armbands

Last Saturday in Eibar, the Blue and Whites’ players wore black armbands on their shirts to honour Pablo, holding a minute’s silence before #EibarMálaga.
