Málaga CF will hold a special minute’s silence before the match against Real Betis Balompié kicks off at La Rosaleda stadium, in memory of Pablo Raéz, who recently passed away. His fight against Leukaemia made him a true example of life.
The Club wishes to honour Pablo’s spirit at La Rosaleda before#MálagaRealBetis. His well-known #SiempreFuerte(#AlwaysStrong) image showing his muscles will be projected across the video screens throughout the stadium, whilst ‘Imagine’ by John Lennon will play, a special song for him that symbolises his strength and outlook on life. The objective; that fans and teams join together in tribute to Pablo.
Last Saturday in Eibar, the Blue and Whites’ players wore black armbands to honour Pablo, and held a minute’s silence before #EibarMálaga, thanks to the willingness from the rival club, the RFEF and LaLiga.
Pablo Ráez, a great sportsman and fan of Málaga CF, visited La Rosaleda in November 2016, sharing some unforgettable moments with the Malaguista squad. He conveyed an unshakable positivity, as well as a maturity beyond his 20 years of age as he battled with his illness.
Increase in bone marrow donations
Not in vain, he used social media to raise awareness and increase the numbers of bone marrow donations in Málaga and all over the country. The Club, via its Foundation, held the traditional blood drive last week at La Rosaleda, including, for the first time, the possibility to donate bone marrow for those who requested to.
Pablo, your fight will continue to be ours. We will never forget you. Ever.
