La Rosaleda becomes a fortress

Málaga CF has accumulated three consecutive wins at La Rosaleda stadium. Victories against Eibar, Athletic and Leganés put our team in the top 5 of the best home game performances.

Stats of the ‘Third’ victory at home

  • The team achieved their third consecutive win in LaLiga (earning 7 out of 9 points in play), and haven’t lost in four out of five games played at their ground.
  • In the rankings of best home performance, MCF – 10 points – are in the Top 5, only beaten by Sevilla, Villarreal, Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid (the colchoneroshave 10 points, but out of 4 matches).
  • Having not conceded a goal against Leganés, Málaga have conceded the fourth fewest number of goals of the competition.
  • Day of debuts. Michael Santos is the 192nd player to debut with MCF in the First Division.  Mikel Villanueva debuted at La Rosaleda with the first team in an official match, and homegrown player, Luis Muñoz debuted in the first team line-up.
  • The ninth time that Málaga CF won by 4-0 in the First Division.

Records

MCF’s record of consecutive victories in LaLiga, at home, dates back to the 2011/12 season.  That year, the best in history for the Club, reaching 4th place in the League and qualification to the UEFA Champions League, Manuel Pellegrini’s men secured five consecutive wins at Martiricos, defeating Sevilla (2-1), Mallorca (3-1), Zaragoza (5-1), Levante (1-0) and Rayo Vallecano (4-2) in matches 21, 23, 25, 27 and 29 of LaLiga respectively.
