La Academia’s ‘Prebenjamin’ boys crowned Ciudad de Málaga champions

The 7-a-side teams from Málaga CF’s youth academy took part in two tournaments over the weekend. The ‘Prebenjamines’ took the title of Ciudad de Málaga champions, whilst the ‘Benjamines’ reached the semi-finals of the Sistrells CF tournament in Badalona.

Málaga CF’s ‘Prebenjamines’ were proclaimed Ciudad de Málaga tournament winners, after defeating Tiro Pichón A by 2-1.  During the initial stage of the competition, the youngest team from La Academia beat Tiro Pichón C (3-1), CD El Palo B (5-0) and Atlético Juval A (2-4).  A penalty shoot-out resulted in the Blue and Whites reaching the next round, following a 1-1 draw at full time against Puerto Malagueño.  In the quarter-finals, the ‘Malaguistas’ defeated Sant George (7-0) and Roma Luz (5-1).
 
In Badalona, the first year ‘Benjamines’ reached the semi-finals of the Sistrells CF tournament, where they lost out to Valencia CF (3-4).  In the group stage, the Blue and Whites’ boys defeated two host teams, the B team by 6-0 and the E team by 9-1, and lost to Real Madrid by 2-6.  In the quarter-finals, the ‘Malaguistas’ defeated Damm (2-1) and lost to Valencia CF in the semi-finals (3-4).
