In the Festival D’Armor, the ‘Malaguistas’ finished in a very respectable second place, after losing 2-1 in the final against Stade Rennais. The boys defeated Standard de Liège (1-0) in the semi-final, after finishing group leaders. During the first phase of the competition, the boys defeated AA Sporting Sul (3-1), Finistère Nord (2-0) and Stade Rennais (1-0), before losing to Stade Brestois (0-4).
The other ‘Malaguistas’ that took part in the IC Croix competition weren’t as fortunate. After an early victory against Sparta Praha (1-0), they drew 0-0 with Torino, and lost out in the penalty shoot-out, to then go on to lose to FC Porto by 2-0 to finish in 11th place.
