La Academia teams continue to take part in summer tournaments

Teams within Málaga CF’s youth ranks, who have not yet started this season’s competitions, are still participating in various summer tournaments to prepare for the league competition.

‘Cadetes’ and ‘Infantiles’ are heading to Manreas for the Elit Cem Tournament, whilst the 7-a-side teams are taking part in two competitions in Córdoba; the ‘VII Pequeñas Grandes Promesas de Benamejí’, with one ‘Alevin’ team and one ‘Benjamin’ side getting involved; and the ‘2nd Andaluza Alevin’ boys are competing in the ‘IV Escuela de Fútbol La Rambla Cup’.

Various youth squads from First Division teams and Catalan sides are taking part in the Elit Cem Tournament, to celebrate ‘Cadete’ and ‘Infantil’ football.  Carlos González’s ‘Cadete’ boys kick off the competition in Saturday’s group stage against FC Fruitosenc (9:45 a.m.), UE Bordeta (1:20 p.m.) and the team that qualifies in the play-offs (3:50 p.m.)  Raúl Iznata’s ‘Infantiles’ are up against Selección ONG Diapo (11:55 a.m.), UE Bordeta (3:10 p.m.) and FC Fruitosenc (7:15 p.m.) in this stage of the tournament.  The top two teams from each group – in the ‘Infantil’ competition, the two best third-placed sides – will take part in Sunday’s final.

The 7-a-side teams from La Academia, one ‘Alevín’ and one’ Benjamin’, are heading to Benamejí in Córdoba on Saturday for the ‘VII Pequeñas Grandes Promesas de Benamejí’ competition.  The tournament kicks off in a triangular formation, with Málaga CF facing Sporting Benamejí and a team from the play-offs in the first stage (12:50 p.m. and 2:50 p.m.)  The best teams from each group, and the best second-placed side will reach the final stage of the competition in the afternoon.

José Márquez’s ‘Alevín’ boys are taking part in the 4th tournament organised by ‘Escuela de Fútbol La Rambla’ on Sunday, where they’ll play Real Betis (10:30 a.m.), Séneca (11:20 a.m.) and host team, EF La Rambla (12:10 p.m.), in the group stage.  The first two teams from each of the two groups will qualify to the final phase.
