Juan Carlos Pérez: “We can’t wait to play”

Málaga Club de Fútbol’s Juan Carlos Pérez held a press conference in the Juan Cortés press room at La Rosaleda before the team heads to Germany for two pre-season friendlies: “These pre-season games will allow us to fix our mistakes.”

New ‘Malaguista’ player, Juan Carlos Pérez analyses the matches against Karlsruhe SC and SC Freiburg during the tour of Germany: “We’re relaxed and working hard.  Now is the time to fix mistakes, which is what these pre-season games are for.  We can’t wait to play, as that is what we enjoy the most, so we’re all really keen.”

Pérez discusses the pre-season as well as the position he’s playing on the team: “The team started work on 1st July, but you won’t notice if we’ve been working for a week more or a week less.  It’s a long pre-season, but this way we’ve got more time to prepare for the start of the League.  My position? For now I’m training as a winger.  The coach has spoken to me a great deal with regards to improving aspects of defence.  I assume he wants to take advantage of using me on the attack and wants the defence work to improve.”

Lastly, Juan Carlos Pérez talks about the team and the start of the League competition against Sevilla FC: “There are some good signings joining the team and I hope we can achieve great things this season, however the first objective is to secure permanency.  The start of the competition is something to looking forward to, although it’ll be difficult, but we’re working hard to perform well in the first match.”
