Jozabed arrives on loan from RC Celta

The new Blue and White midfielder signs to Málaga CF on loan, with an option to buy at the end of the 20/21 season.

Jozabed Sánchez Ruiz (Mairena del Alcor, Sevilla, 1991) is a technical central midfielder who trained within the youth ranks of his hometown team, Sevilla FC.

He stood out in the 10/11 campaign with Sevilla ‘C’ and the following two seasons became indisputable with Sevilla Atlético, playing 56 games (12 goals) in the bronze division.

Ponferradina and Jaén, in Second Division

In 2013 he signed to SD Ponferradina, making his Second Division debut at just 21 years old. The following season, 2013/14, Jozabed remained in the category with Real Jaén CF (36 league matches and four goals, plus three Cup games, scoring one goal).

Six years in the elite, Fulham and loaned out to Girona

Jozabed kicked off a long spell in the First Division with two teams, Rayo Vallecano (2014-16) and RC Celta de Vigo (2016-19), debuting in the top flight at Vallecas against FC Barcelona (4th October 2014). In addition, he briefly joined English side, Fulham (16/17).

The best year of his career, particularly in terms of goals, was with Rayo in 15/16 (27 league games, 10 goals). He joined Celta in 16/17, playing 63 matches within three League campaigns, plus eight in the UEFA Europa League and five in the Copa del Rey.

Last season, 19/20, he was loaned out by the Galician side to Girona FC in LaLiga SmartBank, during which Jozabed played another 12 games to add to his more than 50 matches in the silver division.
