José Herrera: “The result isn’t positive, but the team’s performance is growing”

The Málaga CF Femenino coach analysed the match against Granada CF at the Estadio de la Juventud: “We saw a very open match, where we were superior to the rival, although in the second half the game opened up more”, he said.

Match analysis

“We saw a very open match, tactically very nice with two teams that interpreted the game well. We had a very positive half where we were superior to the rival. We are on that line of continuity, but in the second half the game opened up more. We should have taken more initiative during this match”.

Goal opportunities

“The coaches work to ensure the teams generate scoring opportunities. I believe this team has a marked attacking character, we find arrivals inside, outside, in aerial play, and that’s where we lack a bit of definition. The team generates opportunities, but on this occasion, we must congratulate Granada as they had two chances and got two goals. I believe my team dominated practically the entire first half and almost all of the second, but Granada were more effective”.

Positive aspects

“The team has been able to adapt to a different approach, certain tactical aspects of the game were restructured and I think the team is ready to face the next match. Today the result is negative, but the performance and growth of the team is improving”.
