Jony and Chelsea delight the young fans

The Málaga CF midfielder and women’s team goalkeeper kicked off the 2016/17 #BlueandWhitesValues campaign, at Sagrado Corazón Esclavas-Pedregalejo school.

This wasn’t just a normal Thursday for the students at Sagrado Corazón Esclavas-Pedregalejo school.  The visit from Jony and Chelsea broke up the routine, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the visited from the Malaguistas, organised by the MCF Foundation.

Hundreds of Blue and Whites’ shirts awaited the arrival of the player and the goalkeeper.  With a smile on their faces and all looking forward to receiving an autograph from their idols, the pupils of Sagrado Corazón Esclavas-Pedregalejo school sang the Málaga hymn: (Málaga la bombonera, flor de la Costa del Sol, tiene equipo de Primera, en el fútbol español…..).

The Málaga CF Femenino coach, Raúl Iznata presented the event, and explained the #BlueandWhitesValues before a packed auditorium.  Nutrition, sportsmanship, fair play, equality, healthy habits, friendship and companionship, are some of the aspects of the sporting and life values.

Jony: “They are the future of this Club.  It’s very important that they embrace these values that we’re trying to convey.  That fact that we are the ones who are giving the advice, perhaps means they will take it on board more.  It’s important that these kids maintain a healthy, organised lifestyle, and know how important it is to look after themselves.”

“It’s wonderful to see all the children wearing the Málaga shirt.  Knowing that they are wearing the team colours from such a young age is great.  We’re trying to convey values such as friendship, nutrition and the important of looking after yourself; habits that are very important in life,” adds Chelsea.

Also present at the event were Club adviser, Abdullah Ben Barek, and member of the MCF Foundation’s Social Department, Sebastián Fernández Reyes ‘Basti’.
