Izan and Cordero conclude their journey with Spain U-19s
The two homegrown Malaguistas, who had been with the national team since Monday, have returned after playing the second of two friendly matches against Norway this week in Alicante.
In the first match between Spain and Norway, the U-19 team, managed by Paco Gallardo, won 2-1 after coming from behind following an early goal from the Norwegians. Antoñito Cordero and Izan Merino started the match, with the pivot playing the full 90 minutes. Meanwhile, the winger was substituted in the 76th minute by his teammate Aarón Martín.
Both players had a significant role in the match, held on Tuesday 25th at the Rico Pérez stadium in Alicante, contributing to Spain's victory, with goals from Óscar Marcos (1-1, 10’) and Omar Janneh (2-1, 20’).
Yesterday, Thursday, at the Guillermo Amor stadium in Benidorm, neither Izan nor Cordero played in the second friendly match - within three days - between Spain and Norway U-19s, which ended with a 0-1 victory for the visitors.
The two Blue and White players returned to the city after the second match, following lunch at midday.
