Rainy evening training session with Pellicer at the helm
Málaga CF returned to training this Friday evening, a public holiday for Andalucía Day, at La Rosaleda Stadium, the final session before tomorrow's #AlmeríaMálaga clash in Almería.
At 18:00, Sergio Pellicer's men stepped onto the main pitch at Martiricos, with the coach fully recovered from the viral illness that led to his absence on Thursday.
The session began in the rain, which gradually eased, and included physical activation and group rounds. This was followed by finishing drills, small-sided games on half the pitch, set-piece strategy exercises, and free kick and penalty shooting practice.
In addition to long-term injured players Dani Lorenzo and Haitam, Einar Galilea and Manu Molina remain outside the group dynamic. The Basque centre-back is recovering from discomfort in his right hamstring, while the midfielder from Huelva is dealing with a myotendinous injury in the semimembranosus of his left leg (pending further evaluation).
Furthermore, Antoñito and Izan Merino rejoined training with their teammates after completing their stint with Spain’s U-19 team. They were two of the six reserve players present, along with goalkeeper Andrés Céspedes, Chupe, Ochoa, and defender Ángel Mateo, who was a new addition to the session.
Tomorrow, Saturday, the team will have breakfast at La Rosaleda before departing by bus to Almería. #AlmeríaMálaga will get underway at 21:00, corresponding to LALIGA HYPERMOTION matchday 29.
