Isco plays for Spain’s under-21’s as they qualify for European Championship play-offs

Málaga CF’s Isco Alarcón was part of the under-21’s team in Spain’s match against Switzerland, resulting in a 0-0 draw. The point gained from this match sees Spain into the UEFA European Under-21 Championship play-offs.

The Benalmádena-born player joined the match in minute 62 in substitution of Deulefeu, against the Swiss team who gave Julen Lopetegui’s team a very tough match.

On Monday 10th September, the national under-21’s face Croatia in Alicante.  The draw for the play-offs will take place on Friday 14th September at UEFA headquarters.  The qualifying teams include Germany, France and Italy, with Sweden, Holland, England and Norway almost certain to qualify.  The ten group champions and four best runners-up go through to the next round.
