International powerhouse for the right wing

Alexander González signs to Málaga CF until the end of the 20/21 season. The Venezuelan international arrives at the Club on a free transfer to fill the professional registration of long-term injured Iván Calero.

International career

Alexander David González Sibulo (Venezuela, 1992) is a versatile, powerful right-back, with a professional career of more than a decade that kicked off in his home country with Caracas FC (2009-11) where he won the Venezuelan League and Cup titles.

He made the leap to European football in 2012, joining the ranks of three Swiss clubs. He signed to BSC Young Boys, one of the most traditional Swiss teams, and was loaned out to FC Aarau (13/14) and el FC Thun (14/15).

Experience in Spain

González signed to SD Huesca, where he remained between 2016 and 2018, achieving a historic promotion to LaLiga Santander in the 2017/18 season. The following two seasons he was a regular fixture competing in the Second Division in the ranks of Elche CF (18/19) and CD Mirandés (19/20). In total, between the Spanish League and Cup competitions, he played 140 matches (113 in the starting line-up and 83 full games, scoring nine goals).

At the start of the current 20/21 season he moved to Romania, and arrives here from Dinamo Bucharest.

International

During his international career he has played close to 50 matches with the Venezuela national team (48 caps, one goal). Since 2011 he was been a regular with the Vinotinto, alternating in the number ‘2’ position with former Malaguista Roberto Rosales.
