“I make the most of every minute to do my best”

Málaga CF’s right-back held a press conference following Tuesday morning training and spoke about the team’s constant work under the orders of Muñiz: “It’s highly demanding, which is appreciated”.

Two games in the starting line-up

“I’ve felt pretty comfortable with the team during these two matches and making the most of every minute I can play in order to do my best”.

Positive streak

“Things are looking good, we’re doing well and hopefully this dynamic will continue for a long time. We’ve managed to become a very strong group. I’ve also experienced it from the outside and now I’m inside. We work both situations, which makes the transition of those coming in from the outside more streamlined and not as noticeable”.

Hard, demanding work by the coach

“Every year we work hard, but Muñiz is highly demanding which is appreciated”.

From the youth ranks to the first team

“It’s rewarding because in the end you’re at Málaga, which has been your dream since you were young. Nothing is easy, especially for a player from the youth ranks who has to go through a lot to reach the top, but now I’m thoroughly enjoying everything”.

Characteristics as a player

“I consider myself quite solid in defence, and I also like to move up and concentrate on the attack. I’ve always focused on Dani Alves”.

Differences between Second and Third Division

“You find yourself with higher quality players, very close-knit teams, hard-working, but being at Málaga with all my teammates around me makes everything easier”.

Harper

“Everyone who knows him knows he was an incredible player and he could have been called-up at any time. Like many footballers in the reserve team, you only need to give them an opportunity and they’ll make the most of it”.

RC Deportivo’s goal

“It was a ball that arose from a second play, a corner that was cleared and the defence was a little out of place. We didn’t go out well, I didn’t notice Bergantiños was behind and put the ball in the back of the net”.

Focused on Albacete

“We always watch and analyse the matches, but as Friday’s game is so close, we need to leave it behind. We claimed a good point in A Coruña and are now focused on this Friday’s match”.

Luis Hernández, a reference

“He’s next to me, you can tell the corrections being made, particularly when it comes to moving forward. The fact they help you and tell you where to move I think is good. I believe Pau, who is also new to the category, will too be good with Luis”.

Advice for playing with the first team

“To not complicate things, play how you know how to play, and you’ll have no problem. If you focus on this, you don’t have to have any difficulty at the time of play, and everything is far easier with Muñiz”.
