Málaga CF incorporates Héctor Hernández, the striker from Club Atlético de Madrid, on loan for the 2018/19 season. The fourth reinforcement to the Blue and Whites following the arrivals of Boulahroud, Renato Santos and Munir.
The new player arrived in Málaga this morning and successfully passed the medical at Vithas Salud Rincón Medical Center Rosaleda. Tomorrow, Thursday at 12:00, he will be presented at the ‘Juan Cortés’ press room at La Rosaleda.
Homegrown Red and Whites’ player
Héctor José Hernández Marrero was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (14/09/1995) and after training in the youth ranks of UD Las Palmas, arrived at Atlético de Madrid B in the 2013/14 season at 18 years of age. That season he scored 5 goals in 16 games with the Red and Whites’ reserve team in the bronze division of Spanish football. He also debuted with the Atlético first team in the Copa del Rey at Vicente Calderón, scoring against Sant Andreu no sooner had he stepped on to the pitch.
Elche in the Second Division and exploding onto the scene with Albacete
In 2015/16, Héctor enjoyed his first experience in the silver division in the ranks of Elche CF, who ended the season in a mid-table position (11th). The following year (2016/17), the Canaries-born player exploded onto the scene as a forward with Albacete Balompié. He scored 20 goals and became one of the key players in the team’s promotion to LaLiga 1|2|3. Last season he played 16 matches (2 goals) with Albacete, totalling 47 games in the Second Division at 22 years old.
Héctor Hernández’s career to date includes 5 international appearances (1 goal) with Spain’s Under-19s.
