Women’s team takes the first steps in the First Division

Many well-known and new faces in the first training session of the pre-season for the Malaguista squad at El Pozuelo.

A First Division Málaga CF Femenino is now a reality. The Blue and Whites returned to training this Thursday morning, the first time at El Pozuelo football ground in Torremolinos. A reunion of veterans and many new faces during this session, in which Antonio Contreras called-up 20 players. The entire team was available except for Columbian goalkeeper, Stefany Castaño and Mexican midfielder, Natalia Gómez-Junco, who were absent with the Club’s permission to resolve bureaucratic issues and due to join the team on Monday 6th August.

This first training session was marked by a visit from Academy CEO, Hamyan Al Thani at El Pozuelo to wish Málaga CF’s women’s team the best of luck.

During the two-hour session, the 20 players alternated between physical work and exercises with the ball to prepare Málaga Femenino for the Liga Iberdrola.

New coaching team

Málaga CF Femenino has renewed the coaching team. Antonio Contreras remains as coach, and together with him remain Miguel Viñas, fitness trainer; Mario Rueda, MCF Femenino Coordinator; and Sara Sancho, physiotherapist. Goalkeeping coach, Francisco Ruíz joins the team, as well as Javier Luque as team delegate.
