Haitam Abaida’s time in the African competition ended on Friday.
The ‘juvenil’ winger, who played his fourth match in the tournament on the bounce in the starting-11, was in action for a total of 98 minutes against Tunisia. He was substituted in stoppage time of the Morocco – Tunisia clash, which ended in a 0-0 draw. Tunisia went on to win on penalties by 1-4.
As such, Morocco were a step away from the semi-finals of the tournament and leave Mauritania undefeated, following two wins and two draws in four games.
