Good performance from Álex Robles with Spain’s under-16s

La Academia player, Alejandro Robles took part in two out of Spain’s three matches in UEFA’s under-16s Development Tournament, held in the Algarve (Portugal). The Pizarra-born player was in action for a total of 122 minutes.

Spain’s under-16s, coached by Santi Denia were undefeated in this tournament, following three draws with Holland (0-0), Germany (2-2) and Portugal (0-0), to finish in third place, tied on points with second-placed Portugal, and one point away from champions, Germany.

The dynamic of the tournament meant that draws were decided with a penalty shoot-out.  ‘Malaguista’, Álex Robles scored from the 11-metre spot against Holland, with victory going to Spain on points, however he missed the penalty against Germany, who won the shoot-out by 5-2.
