Goal opportunities couldn’t break the tie in Mallorca (0-0)

The Blue and Whites dominated the match against UD Collerense and generated numerous scoring opportunities. However, rival keeper, María saved two of Málaga’s attempts and the result remained all square.

Málaga CF Femenino claimed a point away from home in the 0-0 draw against UD Collerense in a match in which José Herrera’s girls went from strength to strength and dominated play, particularly in the second half. Despite the goal opportunities, the visitors didn’t manage to open the scoring.

During the initial stages of play, possession was shared between both teams in midfield. The weather conditions didn’t allow for good movement of the ball, which is the why the opportunities were a long time coming. However, Málaga tried their luck with long shots towards Judi. The clearest chance for the Blue and Whites came from Ana Buceta with a header that ended in goalkeeper, María’s hands. The keeper saved attempts by María Ruiz in 24’, and Buceta again tried to score the opener from the edge of the area, but the ball sailed over the target. The defenders took centre stage during the first half in which Collerense could have taken the lead in 40’, although the ball headed towards Noelia’s left post. At half-time the scoreboard still showed 0-0.

With the second half in play, both sides upped their game, with the Malaguistas controlling play. Adriana had the first shot in minute 51 and then seven minutes later, the number ‘10’ slammed the ball against the post. The player from Teruel had several opportunities, especially in the final minutes, but goalkeeper María saved every attempt made by the Blue and Whites. In 90’, María Ruiz came close to a goal, but there was no time left and the final result remained level (0-0).
