The penultimate training session of the week this morning, 17th February, at the Ciudad de Málaga stadium for Málaga Club de Futbol’s first team.
This Friday morning the Malaguista players began with jogging and rounds which gave way to shooting, attack transition, and set piece exercises, before a mini-match on a reduced pitch.
In terms of absences, the midfielders Isco and Toulalan still have the virus they had yesterday. The right defender, Jesús Gámez, was out due to the injury to his right quadricep that he suffered in yesterday’s session. Rubén began the session in the gym and then trained on the pitch with Xabi Mancisidor, whilst Helder Rosario worked out with Enrique Ruiz.
Brazilian-born striker, Julio Baptista, continues with the intensification of this training at the Ciudad de Málaga with anti-gravity exercises that reduce body fat, allowing him to run better. It is thought that this recovery process will come to an end at the end of February and, all being well, it is hoped that Baptista will be fully reincorporated into the Malaguista first squad next month.
Tomorrow, Saturday 18th February, Málaga Club de Fútbol’s first team will return to training at La Rosaleda, before the press conference where Manuel Pellegrini will announce the list of called-up players for the league clash against Athletic de Bilbao, to where they’ll head in the afternoon.
