Escassi: “The team gives their all in every game”

The Malaguista captain said a few words before the sixth edition of the 'Siempre Fuerte' Awards gala. “We’re convinced we can defeat Andorra and get within five points,” he stated.

“The team is full of morale, confidence and joy, with the conviction to move this situation forward. There’s a great union within the dressing room,” he said. “The image we’re showing has improved, especially in the last four or five games, and we’ve shown our level of commitment. We are a strong group, the images speak for themselves, and this is the way out of this situation,” he added.

Escassi isn’t thinking “beyond Andorra. This is the mentality we must have, and we need to fight to the death for the three points. We’re convinced we can defeat Andorra and get within five points. We’re not depending on ourselves, but by doing what we’re doing, I think we have a good chance of winning,” he continued.

Regarding Andorra, “they are a very strong team who work well with the ball. At home they play super well. We have to play a very serious match to get the three points no matter what,” he stated, although he was clear about his own team: “This team is never going to give up. People are happy now with how the team is, how we give our all and the ambition shown in each match.”

If he plays in Andorra, Escassi will reach 100 official matches with MCF. “In three years reaching a hundred games is a dream, an honour and I hope there are many more. It’s a pleasure and an honour to play every game with Málaga,” he said.

“We’re going to take this situation forward. I think that one of the teams will hit a slump and we can take advantage of it. These 10 games are very important, and we arrive with very good feelings,” he stated, going on to reinforce his message: “Training with the team, you can see that the group believes and is convinced we can move this forward. It’s not impossible, if we win, we can be five points away with eight games to go. There is hope, we can do it.”
